The third-ranked UNC women’s soccer team finished its regular season on a high note Thursday night in Coral Gables, topping the Miami Hurricanes on the road by a score of 3-2.
Second half goals by Zoe Redei and Brianna Pinto helped the Tar Heels recover from a 2-1 deficit and pull out the victory.
Rachel Jones scored in the 19th minute to give UNC (16-1-1, 9-0-1 ACC) the early lead, but Miami (5-9-2, 2-7-1 ACC) took the lead with one goal just before halftime from Tia Dupont–and another just after the break by Michell Giamportone.
The win keeps the Tar Heels unbeaten against conference opponents heading into the upcoming ACC Tournament.
