Former UNC women’s lacrosse star Emily Parros–who helped guide the Tar Heels to the 2013 national title as a player–is returning to Chapel Hill as an assistant coach.
Head coach Jenny Levy announced the news on Tuesday, with Parros joining UNC’s staff after spending the last four years in a similar position at East Carolina.
Parros, who was known as Emily Garrity while playing for the Tar Heels, is also a current member of the U.S. National Team and the Philadelphia Force of the National Women’s Lacrosse League.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to return to UNC and help continue its legacy of excellence on and off the field,” Parros said. “I am excited to leverage my experience as a coach, U.S. national player, and former Tar Heel to further contribute to the success of this program.”
