Fans at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary were treated to plenty of goals on Saturday afternoon, as the ffth-ranked UNC women’s soccer team blasted the Syracuse Orange by a score of 7-0.
Joanna Boyles scored a hat trick for the Tar Heels, while Dorian Bailey chipped in a goal as well–leaving the two in a tie atop the team leaderboard with six goals apiece this season.
UNC took the lead Saturday in the 16th minute on a goal from freshman Alessia Russo, and never once looked back.
The Tar Heels (8-2, 4-0 ACC) also received goals from Madison Schultz and Morgan Goff, as they outshot Syracuse (5-4-2, 0-2-1 ACC) by a margin of 26-8.
It was the fourth consecutive victory for head coach Anson Dorrance’s team, which appears poised to compete for the conference crown yet again.
