Seeking to end the longest national title drought in the program’s storied history–a drought that goes back to 2012–the UNC women’s soccer team is in San Jose tonight to try and punch its ticket to the NCAA Championship Game.

Head coach Anson Dorrance’s Tar Heels (23-1-1) are scheduled to take on the Washington State Cougars (16-6-1) at 7 p.m., while the second semifinal features UCLA taking on Stanford at 9:30.

Both matches will be televised on ESPNU.

To get to this point in the tournament, UNC has defeated Belmont (5-0), Colorado (1-0), Michigan (4-0) and USC (3-2). The match against USC didn’t come without a price, however, as the Tar Heels lost MAC Hermann Trophy finalist Emily Fox to a torn ACL.

Washington State, meanwhile, has already pulled off a pair of big upsets to reach the College Cup, having defeated No. 1 seed Virginia and No. 2 seed South Carolina–along with wins over unseeded Memphis and West Virginia.

This marks UNC’s 29th appearance all-time in the NCAA College Cup. The Tar Heels are 25-3 all-time in NCAA Semifinal action.
