Following the second round of the 2018 NCAA Men’s Golf Championship tournament at Karsten Creek Golf Club, UNC currently sits tied for 13th place with a score of 9-over-par.

The Tar Heels shot just one stroke over par on Saturday following a rough opening round.

Joshua Martin was UNC’s top performer in the round, shooting a 3-under-par 69–which was four shots better than any other golfer on the team. His performance also has him 12th on the tournament’s individual leaderboard after shooting an even par 72 in the first round.

Seniors Ben Griffin and William Register each shot 73’s, while Austin Hitt tallied a 74 and Jose Montaño finished with a 75.

Texas Tech currently leads the tournament with a team score of 5-under-par, with Oklahoma State (-4) and Alabama (-3) the only other teams with scores below par.

The top 15 teams will qualify to play in the fourth round of the tournament, set to be played on Monday. From there, the top eight teams move on to match play on Tuesday.
