Hannah George threw her fifth complete game of the season on Saturday in Chapel Hill, as the UNC softball team broke a 2-2 tie with five runs in the sixth inning to defeat the Pittsburgh Panthers 7-2.

The win comes after Pittsburgh (6-8, 1-1 ACC) took the first game of the three-game series on Friday, setting up a rubber match between the two schools on Sunday.

It was a scoreless affair until UNC went ahead with two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning courtesy of a sacrifice fly by Destiny Middleton and an RBI single from Abby Settlemyre.

Pittsburgh tied the game with a pair of runs in the top of the sixth frame, before the Tar Heels exploded in the home half of the inning–beginning with a bases-loaded walk to Kiersten Licea.

From there, Settlemyre drove in another run followed by a three-run triple by Middleton which gave her four RBIs in the game.

With the win, UNC improves to 7-11 overall on the season and 1-1 inside the conference.
