Junior catcher Taylor Greene hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning on Friday in Chapel Hill, giving the UNC softball team a 3-1 walk-off victory over UCONN.

Greene’s blast helped complete a thrilling comeback win for the Tar Heels (6-5), who sent the game to extra innings by scoring on a UCONN error in the bottom of the seventh.

UCONN took its 1-0 lead in the sixth inning with a solo home run off UNC pitcher Brittany Pickett.

Pickett struck out 11 hitters on the day to earn her fifth win of the season, while Greene finished the game a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate.
