Seedings for the NCAA Men’s Golf Regional Tournaments were released Wednesday night, with UNC earning the No. 3 seed in the Kissimmee Regional.

The Tar Heels have won two tournaments this season and have posted seven top-five finishes in 11 tournaments overall. Head coach Andrew DiBitetto’s squad is currently ranked No. 17 nationally, after placing sixth in last week’s ACC Championship.

“Our guys have worked hard all year and earned this three seed,” DiBitetto said. “We look forward to competing in Florida. We’ll go down there with the same mindset we’ve had for each tournament, which is to have fun competing, be resilient, and scratch and claw for every shot to put ourselves in contention to win. Our goal is to bring a regional title back to Chapel Hill.

UNC will officially begin competition at the Reunion Resort’s Watson Course in Kissimmee on May 14, as the 54-hole event is scheduled to run through May 16.

Vanderbilt–ranked No. 6 overall–is the No. 1 seed in the region.

Other teams competing include: Florida, South Florida, Kent State, Arizona, Purdue, Colorado State, St. Mary’s (Calif.), UCF, Coastal Carolina, Jacksonville State, Georgetown and Central Connecticut State.

A top five finish in the regional earns those schools a berth in the NCAA Championship Tournament, which will be played in Stillwater, Oklahoma from May 25-30.
