A trio of UNC women’s lacrosse players were named Preseason All-Americans on Tuesday by Inside Lacrosse magazine.

Junior attacker Katie Hoeg was a First Team selection, while sophomore attacker Jamie Ortega earned a spot on the Second Team. Meanwhile, sophomore defender Emma Trenchard gave the Tar Heels a representative on the Third Team.

Hoeg led the team with 89 points last season, as she piled up 39 goals and 50 assists.

Ortega was the top goal scorer, however, notching a whopping 70 goals to go along with 16 assists.

Defensively, Trenchard was a steady force for head coach Jenny Levy–scooping up 24 groundballs and causing 11 turnovers.

In addition to those three women, midfielder Kara Klages, defender Charlotte Sofield and goalie Taylor Moreno were each named Honorable Mention selections.
