With his Long Island Nets trailing 108-106 in the final seconds of Tuesday’s night’s NBA G-League Eastern Conference title game, former UNC standout Theo Pinson hit a three-pointer with 0.4 seconds left on the clock to give the team a thrilling 109-108 overtime victory over the Lakeland Magic.

As a result, the Nets will play in the G-League’s best-of-three finals against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers–the G-League Affiliate of the NBA’s Houston Rockets.

Pinson finished the night with 18 points, six rebounds and six assists against the Magic.

In 35.6 minutes per game in the G-League this season, the Greensboro native has been outstanding–averaging 20.7 points, 5.9 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game.

Pinson has spent the year on a two-way contract, which has also allowed him to spend 17 games with the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets. During his limited NBA action, he’s posted averages of 4.5 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists across 17 games played.
