NBA free agency officially kicked off at 12:01 a.m. Sunday morning, with a large number of deals announced not long after.
One former Tar Heel who is already on the move is 6-foot-10 forward Ed Davis, who left the Portland Trailblazers to sign a one year deal with the Brooklyn Nets worth $4.4 million.
Davis had previously spent the last three seasons in Portland, where he averaged 5.3 points and 7.4 rebounds per game as a key contributor off the bench in 2017-18.
Taken with the 13th overall selection of the 2010 NBA Draft by the Toronto Raptors after playing two years of college ball at UNC, Davis had done stints with the Raptors, the Memphis Grizzlies and the Los Angeles Lakers before joining the Trailblazers.
Brooklyn will represent the fifth team he’s played for in his pro career to this point.
