Currently riding a season-high six game win streak, UNC moved up one spot to No. 9 in the newest edition of the AP Men’s Basketball Poll–which was released on Monday.

The last time the Tar Heels (22-7, 11-5 ACC) put together such a streak was last year’s NCAA Tournament, when six straight wins earned them a national championship.

As of right now, however, Virginia remains the No. 1 ranked team in America.

The Cavaliers are joined in the top five by Michigan State, Xavier, Villanova and Duke.

Rounding out the top 10 is a group of schools consisting of: No. 6 Kansas, No. 7 Gonzaga, No. 8 Purdue, the Tar Heels and No. 10 Cincinnati

Clemson–at No. 18–is the only other ACC team besides Virginia and the Tobacco Road blue-bloods in the top 25.

This week marks the final two regular season games for UNC, which hosts Miami for Senior Night on Tuesday before heading to Durham to face off with Duke on Saturday.
