The ACC league office released its annual Preseason Softball Coaches Poll on Tuesday, with UNC picked to win the Coastal Division and finish third in the overall conference standings.

In addition, pitcher Brittany Pickett and outfielder Kiani Ramsey were each named to the Preseason All-ACC team.

The Tar Heels finished third in the league last year, and are predicted to finish behind only defending national champion Florida State and Notre Dame.

UNC begins its 2019 season at the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge from Feb. 8-10 in Puerta Vallarta, Mexico. In that event, the Tar Heels will face Baylor, BYU, South Carolina and Washington.
