The UNC softball team extended its winning streak to five games on Wednesday night in Chapel Hill, defeating the Liberty Flames 3-2.
It was the first time the Tar Heels have been scored on during the streak, which also matches a season-high.
Liberty (27-15) scored twice in the top of the third inning to take a 2-1 lead, but the Tar Heels rallied with a run in their half of the third and another in the fifth that proved to be the difference.
Destiny DeBerry provided the game-winning hit, while Brittany Pickett earned her 15th win of the season on the mound.
