UNC junior outfielder Michael Busch went 3-for-4 on Saturday in Blacksburg including five RBIs and a pair of doubles to lift the 16th-ranked UNC baseball team to a 7-5 victory over the Virginia Tech Hokies.
The win evens the three-game series between the two teams heading into Sunday’s finale following a 4-1 victory by the Hokies (16-6, 4-4 ACC) on Friday.
After falling behind 3-0 through two innings on Saturday, the Tar Heels (17-7, 3-5 ACC) rallied back by scoring six runs over the next four innings to take control of the game.
Busch was responsible for four of those runs, while Ashton McGee added an RBI double of his own in the top of the sixth inning–the hit that put UNC ahead for good.
Virginia Tech answered with runs in its half of the sixth inning and another in the seventh, but was unable to tie things back up.
