After shooting a combined score of 7-under-par on Friday at the Wailua Golf Course in Lihue, Hawaii, the UNC men’s golf team is now positioned in sixth place heading into the final round of the John Burns Intercollegiate.

Freshman Ryan Burnett led the way in Friday’s second round, shooting a 5-under-par 67–a round which included five consecutive birdies at one point.

The Tar Heels shot even par in the first round, and are currently 11 strokes behind the leader, Arizona State (-18), in the 20-team event.

At 4-under-par for the tournament, Burnett is currently 13th overall on the individual leaderboard–the highest-ranked Tar Heel in that portion of the tournament.
