The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Association released its annual All-American teams on Wednesday–with four Tar Heels included as part of the list.
Senior attacker Molly Hendrick and junior midfielder Marie McCool were each First Team selections, while attackers Ela Hazar and Sammy Jo Tracy found their names on the Third Team.
Hendrick has currently amassed a school record 69 goals this season for head coach Jenny Levy, while taking home the ACC Attacker of the Year award–as well as the MVP trophy in the ACC Tournament.
McCool is one of five finalists for the Tewaaraton Award–given annually to the top player in the country–and was named the ACC Midfielder of the Year after scoring 47 goals and dishing out 18 assists.
Scoring 30 goals and tallying a school-record 37 assists helped Hazar earn her spot as an All-American, while Tracy is the school’s all-time leader in draw controls–having won a career-high 141 this season as a fifth-year senior.
The Tar Heels are currently 17-2 in 2017, and are looking to defend last year’s NCAA Championship.
Next on the schedule is an NCAA Quarterfinal showdown against Navy this Saturday at Fetzer Field. The scheduled start time is 1 p.m.
