Despite taking the first set of Sunday’s match at Florida State, the UNC volleyball team couldn’t keep the same pace as the action went on–falling 3-1 to the Seminoles in Tallahassee (25-21, 17-25, 14-25, 15-25).
Skyler Wine and Destiny Cox each had 12 kills for the Tar Heels (5-10, 1-5 ACC), while Ava Bell added 11 to represent the majority of the team’s offense. Hunter Atherton was the team’s top playmaker, meanwhile, assisting on 45 of UNC’s 50 total kills.
Florida State (9-7, 5-1 ACC) simply played a near-perfect match following the first set, dominating each of the last three without much of a problem.
The Seminoles made just 12 errors all day and ended with a staggering hitting percentage of .336.
It marks the fifth loss in the last six matches for the Tar Heels, and third in a row.
