Former UNC golf star Davis Love III was one of 12 people selected Tuesday to be part of the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame’s Class of 2019.

Love–a Charlotte native who was a three-time All-American as a Tar Heel before turning professional in 1985–joins a class headlined by former NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Also among the Hall’s Class of 2019 are: Ernie Barnes, Willie Bradshaw, Eddie Bridges, Rod Broadway, Gene Corrigan, Steve Gabriel, Dee Kantner, Paul Miller, Neill McGeachy, and Thell Overman.

Love was previously inducted to the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2017.

Throughout his career, he was won 21 PGA Tour events–including the 1997 PGA Championship. He has also finished second at the Masters in both 1995 and 1999, while serving as the captain of the U.S. Ryder Cup team in 2012 and 2016.
