This year’s Major League Lacrosse All-Star Game–set to be played Thursday, June 28 at Harvard Stadium–will have four former Tar Heels playing in it, as the league announced the selections on Monday.

The game will feature the league’s all-stars taking on Team USA.

Attacker Marcus Holman, who starred for UNC as part of the Class of 2013, has a similar role for the Ohio Machine in the MLL–but will be playing for Team USA in this game.

Tar Heels on the MLL All-Stars will be attacker Davey Emala (2013), midfielder Stephen Kelly (2017) and attacker Chris Cloutier (2018).

Emala is Holman’s teammate up front for the Machine, while Kelly is the main face-off man for the Chesapeake Bayhawks. Cloutier, meanwhile, is a rookie phenom for the Denver Outlaws who has exploded onto the scene after graduating UNC this past spring.

This will mark the first time in four years that the MLL All-Stars have faced off against Team USA.

“We are thrilled to invite 30 of the best players in the world to represent MLL in this year’s All-Star Game,” said MLL Commissioner Alexander Brown.  “Not only will the best players in the world be on display, but this grudge match has historically proven to be one of the most exciting events our game has to offer.  For any lacrosse fan, this game is the one that they will not want to miss.”
