UNC freshman goalie Collin Krieg was named Tuesday as both the US Lacrosse Division I National Defensive Player of the Week and the ACC Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week.
Krieg made a career-high 20 saves in the top-ranked Tar Heels’ 16-13 victory over No. 8 Virginia last Thursday, a number that nearly doubled his previous career-high of 11.
Through seven career games, UNC is 7-0 with Krieg in goal. He’s posted a goals against average of 10.36 and a .515 save percentage to this point in the season.
These represent his first career national and ACC weekly awards.
