UPDATE: Chapel Hill Police said around 11 a.m. on Sunday, Colby Williams has been “returned home.”


The Chapel Hill Police Department is looking for a missing teenager on Saturday night and is asking the public for assistance.

Police shared a release around 8:45 p.m. saying 15-year-old Colby Lewis Williams was last seen on Friday, April 29 around 9 p.m. He was in the area of Weaver Dairy Road in Chapel Hill.

Williams is described as 5-foot-8 and weighing around 140 pounds. He is a Black male with brown eyes, and short, braided black hair with faded sides. Police say Williams was last seen in a green and black camouflage hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, black Nike Air Max sneakers and a black cloth mask covering his face and neck.

Chapel Hill Police encourage anyone who has seen Williams, or has any information about his whereabouts, to call 911. They can also call Orange County Communications at 919-732-5063. Callers who wish to remain anonymous can also use the Chapel Hill-Carrboro-UNC Crimestoppers hotline at 919-942-7515.

This comes about one week after another teenager was reported missing in Chapel Hill. A police spokesperson confirmed to Chapelboro that 16-year-old Zoe Borden was safely located.
