UPDATE: Chapel Hill Police shared a message at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday saying Yueh-Ning Cheng has been safely located.
The Chapel Hill Police Department issued a missing person alert Tuesday night for a resident last seen in the morning.
A release said police are asking the public for help in locating 28-year-old Yueh-Ning Cheng. Cheng was last seen around 10:45 a.m. near Forsyth Drive, which is a neighborhood off Legion Road. Police clarified Cheng “is believed to have left willingly” from the area.
Tuesday’s alert described Cheng as 5-foot-5 and weighing around 114 pounds. A photo provided by police showed she has black hair that is slightly longer than shoulder-length. She was last seen wearing a red oversized polo shirt, navy blue basketball shorts and tan slide-on sandals.

Chapel Hill Police asked anyone with information on Cheng’s whereabouts or wellbeing to call 911 or contact the police department directly at 919-968-2760.
