UPDATE: Chapel Hill Police said at 2:18 p.m. on Tuesday that Ruat was safely located.


The Chapel Hill Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating a missing teenager on Tuesday afternoon.

A release from the department said 14-year-old Lal Rem Ruat was last seen on Monday around 11 a.m. Police said Ruat, who is a Chapel Hill resident, was reportedly in the area of South Estes Drive and Fordham Boulevard when last spotted. The message on Tuesday afternoon said the teenager is not believed to be in danger.

Chapel Hill Police described Ruat as 5-foot-4 and weighing around 120 pounds. When last seen, he was wearing a short-sleeved black shirt, dark pants and black sneakers.
