UPDATE: The Orange County Sheriff’s Office says it found Margaret Browning walking in the area of Weaver Dairy Road and safely returned her to her home.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office shared an alert Friday evening saying it is searching for a missing 70-year-old woman.

In an OC Alert sent at 5:16 p.m., the sheriff’s office said Margaret Browning was last seen walking at 103 Groomsbridge Court in Chapel Hill. She is white and was seen using a cane.

Police asked nearby residents to check their yards and outbuildings, to secure any outdoor animals, and call 911 if they see Browning. The alert also said search teams will be in the area.
