UPDATE: Chapel Hill Police said Aliayah Castro was safely located around 9:10 p.m. on Monday night.


The Chapel Hill Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a teenager.

According to a missing person report filed to police, 15-year-old Aliayah Yaneth Castro of Chapel Hill has not been seen since around 10 p.m. on Saturday in the area of Weaver Dairy Road and Kingston Drive. Authorities said the teenager is not believed to be in danger.

Castro is described as 4-foo-10 and weighing around 100 pounds, and was last seen wearing a gray hoodie with black and red pajama pants. Sunday’s release also noted Castro recently dyed her hair orange.

This is the latest incident where Castro has been reported missing within the last month, as she was part of a group of teenagers who were reported missing in the last week of May. Each person was safely located, according to police.
