The Carrboro-based nonprofit TABLE announced on Wednesday it would be moving into a new, renovated building at 311 East Main Street. The move is part of the public phase of TABLE’s Room to Grow Capital Campaign. To date, the organization has raised $1.95 million of its $3.25 million goal in the campaign.

“Meeting the food insecurity needs of Orange County children in our current space has become an ever-increasing challenge,” said TABLE executive director Ashton Tippins. “Due to the physical limitations of our current space we cannot serve more than 800 kids or expand our programming and community partnerships. We have been in pursuit of a new building and location for several years that can adequately meet our needs and the needs of the children and families we serve.”

TABLE’s mission is to deliver healthy food and nutrition education to children living in Orange County. Currently, it is located at 209 East Main Street in Carrboro.

As part of the public phase of the Room to Grow Campaign, TABLE is beginning a matching gift challenge as well. All donations up to $50,000 will be matched dollar-for-dollar through next Wednesday, September 28. Molly and David Shivers, who have worked with TABLE since its founding in 2008, are leading the challenge.

“We have always been grateful for the Shiverses’ support, especially now as we look toward the future of TABLE,” Tippins said. “Their dedication to local children is evident and announcing this campaign with their lead gift brings us so much joy. We are confident it will inspire others to join the Room to Grow Campaign!”
