If you’ve been in downtown Carrboro recently, you’ve already seen the major construction project around Main Street, as OWASA crews replace 2000 feet of sewer lines.

But that’s not the only road project that’s ongoing in Carrboro this spring.

Through the months of March and April, Carrboro public works crews will be resurfacing 15 local streets. This is a biennial project to improve some of the 47 miles of roadway that the town of Carrboro is responsible for maintaining.

“Every couple years we take several of our local roads in Carrboro and do scheduled resurfacing,” said Mayor Damon Seils recently on 97.9 The Hill. “These are local roads, not the [NCDOT-maintained] roads like Main Street.”

Town officials will notify residents on the roads at least 48 hours before the work begins. Residents are encouraged to move their vehicles off the roadways ahead of time; it may be required once the work begins.

This year’s Carrboro Street Resurfacing Project includes the following 15 roads:

  • Hogan Hills Road
  • Bayview Drive
  • North Fields Circle
  • Lake Manor Road
  • Lake Ridge Place
  • Tramore Drive
  • Colfax Drive
  • West Poplar Avenue
  • Palomar Point
  • N. Hawick Court
  • Burnes Place
  • Barrington Hill Road
  • Autumn Drive
  • Canton Court
  • Downing Court
