The Carrboro Police Department has charged two teens involved in a burglary and shooting incident that occurred earlier this month. Now, police are still looking for one of the identified suspects.
The incident at Oakwood Apartments in Carrboro occurred August 5. According to police, a resident of the complex, which is located at 605 Oak Avenue, returned home around 10:15 p.m. to find that multiple suspects had broken into their apartment and were still inside.
Carrboro Police said the resident and a friend then chased the suspects out of the apartment and through the Oakwood complex. During the chase, one of the suspects reportedly fired a single shot from an unknown type of weapon before escaping. Police said no injuries were reported from the incident, although the victim reported several items were taken from their residence.
Since then, warrants have been obtained for Tayquan Tylee Kenshon Pierre, 18, for the following offenses: shooting into an occupied dwelling, 1st degree burglary, larceny after breaking and entering, possession of a stolen vehicle, and felony conspiracy.

Per a press release Thursday, police said Pierre is currently at large.
Juvenile petitions were also obtained for a 16-year-old suspect for the following offenses: shooting into an occupied dwelling, 1st degree burglary, and larceny after breaking and entering.
The petitions were filed with Juvenile Justice with the NC Department of Public Safety. Because of the age of the suspect, the Carrboro Police Department is unable to release additional identifying information.
Police said the shooting was an isolated incident and at least one of the suspects were known to the victim. “We do not believe there is an on-going threat to the public,” the release reads.
Anyone with additional information on this incident or information on the whereabouts of Tayquan Pierre, is asked to contact Investigator Trey Kennedy with the Carrboro Police Department at (919) 918-7412.
