Visitors to the ABC #10 store on Oakdale Drive in Hillsborough Saturday might have witnessed a big surprise.

A woman crashed a vehicle into the side of the building on the morning of April 25, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. The front and left side of the vehicle broke through the front wall of the store, entering one of the storage areas.

According to the Community Watch Daily Report shared by the county sheriff’s office, the accident occurred when the driver attempted to park the vehicle. She was determined to have not been driving impaired.

“The driver was operating an electric car belonging to someone else,” said Orange County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Kimberly Walker. “The crash occurred when she pressed the accelerator instead of the brake. Although no one was injured, the building and the vehicle sustained considerable damage.”

James Schweitzer, Steven Adams and Carolyn Jull all shared photos of the incident on the Nextdoor app.

According to the office’s community watch report, the vehicle was towed on Saturday and the ABC board sent a construction crew to the location to repair the damaged wall.
