As the United States Under-20 Women’s Soccer National Team prepares for its upcoming 10-day training camp in Carson, California, a pair of Tar Heels were invited to take part.

Rising sophomore defender Emily Fox and incoming freshman midfielder Brianna Pinto–who has yet to actually play a game for UNC–join a group of 24 players competing for 21 roster spots on the USA’s 2018 FIFA U-20 World Cup team, which will compete in France beginning on Aug. 6.

The roster is composed of players born in 1998, 1999 and 2000.

Head coach Jitka Klimkova will have the U-20 team scrimmage twice against the U-23 team during camp as part of preparations.

So far this year, the U-20 team has posted a record of 6-0-4.
