Chapel Hill Police are investigating a shooting from early Wednesday.

The victim sustained what police have called non-life-threatening injuries after being shot by a handgun, according to a police report from just after midnight on Wednesday morning.

There are few known details surrounding the shooting as of Friday morning. Chapel Hill Police Lieutenant Josh Mecimore said authorities are continuing to investigate different stories to establish what happened leading up to the events of the night.

Mecimore said the victim arrived at UNC Hospitals for treatment of injuries. The report lists North Roberson Street at the location of the incident, but police have reiterated they are still investigating varying accounts of the night.

The victim’s name has not been released at this time and there is no update on their condition.
