A Durham man has been arrested after two State Employees’ Credit Unions were robbed in Chapel Hill earlier this month.
A suspect entered the SECU branch on Pittsboro Road on July 2 and handed a note to the teller demanding money, according to law enforcement. A second location was robbed on July 5 and police announced that Alvin Lennon was a suspect in the initial robbery.
The 61-year-old Lennon was arrested on Tuesday afternoon, according to police records. He is facing two felony counts of common law robbery.
He is being held under a $16,000 secured bond and is scheduled to make his first court appearance Wednesday afternoon in Hillsborough.
