Chapel Hill Police are asking for public assistance identifying a suspect after a bank robbery Monday afternoon.

Authorities were called to a reported robbery at the SunTrust Bank at 126 West Franklin Street around 1:30 p.m. Monday.

The suspect, according to law enforcement, “communicated with the teller to hand over the money” but did not display a weapon. However, police are urging caution saying that if you see the individual matching the photo, “do not attempt to approach.”

If anyone has any information regarding the robbery, you are asked to call Chapel Hill Police at (919) 968-2760 or Crime Stoppers at (919) 942-7515. Calls to Crime Stoppers are confidential and anonymous and callers may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
