With a rich basketball tradition and delicious local cuisine, it’s not a secret that Chapel Hill is a college town vacation destination.

The online publication CheatSheet agrees, as they ranked Chapel Hill as the No. 9 college town in America to visit. Here is what the site had to say about the home of the University of North Carolina:

If you love college basketball, then you may want to make a pilgrimage to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, one of the coolest college towns according to Travel + Leisure. Much of the campus is picturesque, but aesthetics aren’t the focus at the Dean Dome, where the Tar Heels play. If you go for a game, don’t forget to check out the Carolina Basketball Museum.

It comes as no surprise to Chapel Hillians that this small Southern town is listed as one of the best college towns in America. Earlier this year, other publications named Chapel Hill one of the prettiest cities in the South and the best town to visit for college basketball.

Interesting note, Durham and Raleigh are nowhere to be found on this list.
