A two-match road trip to Pennsylvania got off to a great start Friday night for No. 17 UNC wrestling team, which defeated the host Bucknell Bison by a score of 31-6.
The Tar Heels (9-5) won eight of the night’s 10 individual matches against Bucknell (5-7), including getting a pair of pins–one from Austin O’Connor at 149 pounds and another from Chip Ness at 184.
Heavyweight Cory Daniel and 133-pounder Gary Wayne Harding each picked up major decision wins for UNC, as the Tar Heels faced little resistance on the way to the blowout win.

UNC will face much stiffer competition on Saturday, when it faces ACC opponent Pittsburgh–the nation’s No. 12 ranked team.
