With a 4-1 victory over No. 6 seed Georgia Tech in the ACC Championship final on Sunday in Rome, Georgia, the top-ranked UNC women’s tennis team claimed its fifth consecutive conference title.

The Tar Heels (26-0) began the match by winning the doubles point, then got a singles victory from Fiona Crawley (6-0, 6-2) to double their lead.

Georgia Tech answered with a win on Court Five, but the Tar Heels then won the next two singles contests thanks to Alexa Graham (7-5, 6-1) and Elizabeth Scotty (6-4, 6-2)–clinching the conference crown.

Crawley was named the event’s Most Valuable Player after improving her singles record on the year to 25-0 as a freshman.

As a team, the Tar Heels have won their last 44 matches overall dating back to last season and will carry that streak–the longest in ACC women’s tennis history–into the upcoming NCAA Tournament.
