Despite dropping the doubles point for the first time all season on Sunday afternoon in Winston-Salem, the top-ranked UNC women’s tennis team put on a clinic in singles competition to rally for a 6-1 victory over the No. 14 Wake Forest Demon Deacons.

The Tar Heels got wins from Sara Daavettila (6-4, 6-1), Cameron Morra (6-4, 6-2), Anika Yarlagaada (6-4, 6-4) and Alle Sanford (7-5, 6-4) in straight sets to clinch the team victory, while Makenna Jones (4-6, 6-3, 1-0) and Alexa Graham (4-6, 6-4, 1-0) each added victories in three sets with the team outcome already decided.

With the win, UNC improves to 18-0 on the year and 6-0 inside the ACC. Wake Forest falls to 9-4 overall and 1-3 against ACC competition with the loss.
