With a combined score of 16-over-par for the weekend, the UNC women’s golf team took home a seventh place finish at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate at the Long Cove Golf Club in Hilton Head, South Carolina.

It was a notable improvement for the Tar Heels, who finished 17th at this same event last season.

Wake Forest won the team tournament with a score of 22-under-par, while second place Auburn was a whopping 26 strokes behind at 4-over-par.

Jennifer Zhou was the Tar Heels’ top individual at the event, taking a 10th place finish with a score of 7-over-par.
