With over 70 former players, coaches and staff members on hand Sunday at Carmichael Arena, the UNC women’s basketball team clamped down on the Virginia Cavaliers on the way to a 70-53 victory.
The Tar Heels (16-11, 7-6 ACC) held Virginia (10-15, 4-8 ACC) to just 29 percent shooting from the floor, and led for nearly the entire game.
Senior guard Paris Kea led UNC with 16 points, while Taylor Koenen chipped in a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Rounding out the other players in double figures were Janelle Bailey (14 points) and Shayla Bennett (10 points).

The Tar Heels will stay home at Carmichael for their next game on Thursday, when they host Boston College. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
