UNC graduate transfer Petra Holešínská was selected Monday to compete in the upcoming State Farm College Slam Dunk and 3-Point Championships at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
Holešínská is one of eight players who will compete for the women’s three-point crown on Thursday, after finishing the season as UNC’s top threat from long distance–making 56 total three-pointers with a .354 percentage.
She will follow in the footsteps of current Tar Heel head coach Courtney Banghart, who competed in the same event back in 2000 as a senior at Dartmouth.
Fans can watch the contest on Thursday on ESPN2, with the start time set for 9 p.m.
“Getting invited to the college three-point contest means a lot to me,” Holešínská said. “I take a lot of pride in my shot and it’s great to see that my hard work isn’t going unnoticed. I’m also thankful for the opportunity to put the Carolina uniform on one more time. Being a Tar Heel means so much to me and I’ll make sure I represent the program as well as I can.”
