A trio of UNC women’s basketball signees for the Class of 2021 were selected as McDonald’s All-Americans on Tuesday, as head coach Courtney Banghart’s team continues to add talent.

Destiny Adams, Teonni Key and Kayla McPherson each received the honor, which goes to 24 of the top high school players in America each year.

UNC is one of four schools to have three McDonald’s All-Americans this year, joining national powerhouses Connecticut, South Carolina and Texas.

Including current freshman point guard Deja Kelly, Banghart will have four McDonald’s All-Americans on the Tar Heel roster next season.

Adams and Key are both 6-foot-3 and have skills that can be used both inside and outside. Adams currently stars for Manchester Township High School in New Jersey, while Key is a local product from Cary High School in Cary.

McPherson is a 5-foot-7 point guard from Madison County High School in Georgia, where she was named the state’s Gatorade Player of the Year in 2019.

The trio will be joined in Chapel Hill by guard Morasha Wiggins in what ESPN ranks as the No. 2 recruiting class in the country.
