A pair of Tar Heel women’s basketball standouts earned All-ACC honors on Tuesday, as Janelle Bailey was named an All-ACC honorable mention and Deja Kelly received a spot on the All-Freshman team.

Bailey–a senior from Charlotte–has now received All-ACC recognition in each of her four years at UNC. She was the ACC Freshman of the Year in 2018, a Second Team All-ACC selection in 2019 and a First Team choice in 2020.

This season, Bailey led the Tar Heels in two major categories with averages of 13.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game.

Kelly was one of eight players selected to the All-Freshman team, following an outstanding season in which she proved why she was a McDonald’s All-American before arriving at UNC.

The San Antonio native is averaging 10.9 points per game as the Tar Heel point guard, and has seen her play improve as the season has gone on. Over the last two weeks she has averaged 19.3 points per outing and won back-to-back ACC Freshman of the Week honors.

UNC has posted a record of 13-9 this season with an 8-9 record in conference play. The Tar Heels will take on Wake Forest on Thursday in Greensboro in their ACC Tournament opener.
