The beginning of the Courtney Banghart era at UNC continues to stay perfect, as the Tar Heel women’s basketball team rolled to a 92-53 victory on Sunday at Carmichael Arena over the visiting North Carolina Central Eagles.

Junior forward Janelle Bailey led all scorers with 19 points in the game, while Shayla Bennett and Malu Tshitenge each added 16 apiece to help UNC improve its record to 8-0 to begin the season.

The Tar Heels have won all eight of their games by at least 13 points.

On Sunday, UNC built a 15-point halftime lead against NC Central (1-8) and continued to build on that the rest of the way–never once allowing the Eagles to mount any sort of comeback.

For the game, the Tar Heels shot 45 percent from the floor and out-rebounded NC Central by a margin of 50-32.
