The Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools system swore in four members to its Board of Education on Thursday.

Following November’s election between four available seats, incumbent Rani Dasi and newcomers Jillian La Serna, Ashton Powell and Deon Temne officially took their positions after being sworn in at the board’s final meeting of the year.

Board members James Barrett, Pat Heinrich and Margaret Samuels, who was serving as the chair, all completed their terms.

The school board also elected a new chair and vice chair at the meeting, tapping Mary Ann Wolf and Amy Fowler for the respective roles.
