Candidate Intros: Chapel Hill and Carrboro City Schools Board of Education (4 Seats)

Chapel Hill Transit returned to full service operations in August, but some riders are seeing changes on their routes. The transit system is experiencing a critical operator shortage. Typically entering a new school year there are 130 to 140 operators. This year, however, there are only 86.

The Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools Board of Education voted to approve a universal mask requirement in schools as well as mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations or weekly testing for staff.

Research from Duke shows in-person learning can resume safely and proper mitigation measures can lower and prevent transmission in school settings.
