The ACC released its preseason women’s soccer poll on Thursday, with UNC picked to finish second in the conference behind Florida State.
A pair of Tar Heels–forwards Jessie Scarpa and Bridgette Andrzjewski–were also named to the Preseason All-ACC Team.
Voting for both the poll and the All-ACC roster was conducted by the league’s 14 head coaches.
The Seminoles received eight first place votes and placed four players on the All-ACC team, as they look to win the conference for a fifth consecutive season.
UNC garnered a pair of first place votes in the poll, while Duke, Virginia and Notre Dame make up the rest of the top five.
Training for the upcoming season begins this week for the Tar Heels, who will be preparing for a tough season opener against Duke at Wakemed Soccer Park in Cary. That game is set for Friday, August 18.
