After posting a 2-0 victory over then-No. 3 Clemson last week, the UNC women held on to their spot at No. 1 in the newest edition of the United Soccer Coaches Poll released on Tuesday.

The Tar Heels are now 4-0-0 to begin the 2020 season and lead a group of seven ACC teams included in this week’s rankings.

With only 15 teams listed in the poll this year due to less teams participating in the season, the ACC accounts for nearly half of the rankings.

Florida State is just behind the Tar Heels at No. 2 this week, while the rest of the top five consisting of Arkansas, Oklahoma State and Kansas.

Clemson fell to No. 6 after losing to UNC, with the Tigers followed by Duke, Georgia, West Virginia and Virginia in the top 10.

Texas A&M, TCU, Louisville, Notre Dame and Florida represent the final five teams in the poll.

The Tar Heels return to the pitch on Thursday to host No. 9 Virginia at Dorrance Field.
