Trailing two sets to one in its match against the Oklahoma Sooners on Friday in Boulder, Colorado, the UNC volleyball team rallied back to win 3-2 (26-24, 20-25, 21-25, 25-16, 17-15) for its third win in its last four outings.
The Tar Heels (3-3) trailed by as many as six points in the first set before coming back to take it for themselves–a development that proved critical as the Sooners (4-3) took each of the next two sets.
Destiny Cox led the way for UNC with 25 kills in the match, followed by 14 from Aristea Tontei and 10 from Madison Laufenberg.
In addition, Hunter Atherton posted career-highs with 49 assists, 18 digs and eight kills of her own.
