The UNC volleyball team improved to 3-2 in ACC play on Friday night in Chapel Hill, as it topped the visiting Miami Hurricanes 3-1 (25-14, 22-25, 25-15, 25-23).
Parker Austin led the Tar Heel offense with 17 kills, while Lauren Harrison was just behind with 13 kills of her own.
Perhaps the most important aspect of UNC’s victory, though, was its season-high 24 blocks in the match–a number that was just three shy of the program’s all-time record.
As a result, Miami (7-6, 3-2 ACC) posted a putrid hitting percentage of .087. The Tar Heels doubled that number and then some with a .203 mark in that category.
After starting the year 1-7, UNC is now 6-9 overall having won five of its last seven matches.
